Beta period for OpenDKIM 2.6.0 beginning

The first beta release of OpenDKIM 2.6.0 is now available via SourceForge.

This beta period is scheduled to end in the first couple of days of June.
The release is code-complete, though naturally any bugs discovered during
the beta period are candidates for being fixed.

Also, I am considering removing some FFRs that don't seem to be needed as
DKIM has matured. In particular _FFR_SELECT_CANONICALIZATION and
_FFR_SELECTOR_HEADER seem like they're no longer necessary given the
KeyTable/SigningTable and Lua capabilities the filter currently has. If
anyone has suggestions for FFRs that can be dropped, please let me know.

Further, I'm looking for a couple of FFR candidates to promote to full
production code. Any suggestions?

Releases during the beta period will typically be at least three days
apart except if something critical is identified.

Discussion of beta release issues should take place only on the
opendkim-dev list. This will be the only announcement on opendkim-users.
Please do not use the opendkim-users list or the bug trackers to identify
new issues that are specific to the beta releases.

The current RELEASE_NOTES for 2.6.0 is as follows:

2.6.0 2012/06/01

                 by Rolf Sonneveld.
Feature request #SF3502777: Log all authentication results rather than
relying on logging of Authentication-Results header fields.
                 Requested by Andreas Schulze.
Feature request #SF3512286: Add "LDAPSoftStart" flag so the filter
doesn't abort on startup when LDAP is not available.
Feature request #SF3512836: Add _FFR_SOCKETDB, which enables support
for a generic socket data set.

                 provided by Andre Nathan.
Feature request #SF3516253: Update to newest "repute" working group

tag in Authentication-Results header fields rather than in

                 space. Reported by Todd Lyons.
LIBOPENDKIM: Fix bug #SF3496041: Remove _FFR_PARSETIME.
LIBOPENDKIM: Fix bug #SF3516653: By default, treat a syntax error

                 behaviour. Suggested by Scott Kitterman.

compatible with free software licensing, which makes packaging
a bit of a chore. Replace all the text files in the "docs"
directory with a single HTML page that includes links to
all the things we used to include here. Requested by
                 Scott Kitterman.
STATS: Feature request #SF3110059: Move opendkim-reportstats from
contrib/stats to stats, making it fully supported.

Thank you for your continued support!
